Therapeutic Parent Manual

The new Parent Manual, put out by the Association for the Treatment and Training in the Attachment of Children, is a wonderful resource for parents. It has a wealth of information and practical suggestions.

It covers many issues that children with Complex Trauma and disorders of attachment face.

copies can be ordered on Amazon.com or at www.attach.org

I am at my wits end and contemplating divorce as my husband struggles with acknowledging that his 9 y/o daughter has attachment disorder and all that encompasses. We have custody and her mother who has visitation refuses to follow a treatment regarding behavior and nurturing also. Since I am the primary mother figure in this child's life, I am the primary target of this child's anger, hurt, and resentment. Ths shame is the child will not get what she needs and the marriage is liable to end.

I am sorry to hear about your very difficult situation. That is quite sad. You might want to look at the list of registered clinicians at www.attach.org or on my website, www.center4familydevelop.com to see if there is a therapist in your region who may be able to help you.

If you like to call me, you can do that too and I'd be glad to help if I can.
