Training

The new Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy Institute is off to a great start. The Institute will certify therapist, consultants, and trainers in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy. The use of the term Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy and related terms, such as stating that one is a Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy therapist are now protected. This will help ensure integrity to the model, which now has a firm evidence and empirical basis demonstrating its effectiveness.

Oh my goodness. Your blog is a fascinating blend of information!! I am going to a workshop by Dr. Bruce Perry tomorrow and will be writing a piece on that. Do you think it would be possible for me to do a written interview with you for my blog? I'd give you the questions and give you how every long you wanted to mull them over. I could include links to some of your work.

Dr. Perry has some very good material. Yes, I'd be glad to do an interview with you...you can call my office and we can then set this up.

regards,

Most of my workshops and training courses will provide CEU's that can be used to meet the requirements to become a Certified Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapist. For example, my Master Class (offered at the Center in Williamsville or at your site; such as the one I am doing now in Mercer County PA or the upcoming one I will be doing in Singapore this summer) provides up to 48 hours toward the 56 required hours.

I will be finished with classes in December and then still have to do my internship. Once I have my license I would love to either come and receive this training or work toward getting it into this area. There are some excellent resources in Omaha/Lincoln that might make it possible. It would benefit the entire area.

Dear Brenda,

Sure. I teach a Master Class here one Saturday a month for six months...one is just starting now, so the next one won't be until next year. I do a lot of training around the US and internationally. Usually I provide the Master Class in three two day blocks over three or four months when I provide this class elsewhere. It seems to work well. I'm just in the middle of one such training in Pennsylvania now.
